Brand Deal Negotiation Tips

Always anchor high. Your first number sets the reference point. Quote 20–30% above your minimum and leave room to negotiate. Brands expect negotiation.

Exclusivity costs them, not just you. If a brand wants category exclusivity (you can't work with their competitors for 30–90 days), that's lost revenue. Charge 15–25% on top of your base rate per 30 days of exclusivity.

Usage rights have real value. When a brand wants to use your content in their own ads (whitelisting), paid media, or on their website, you should charge an additional 20–50% on top of the creation fee. This is a perpetual license — price it accordingly.

What brands typically pay: Nano (1k–10k): $10–$200/post. Micro (10k–100k): $200–$2,000. Mid-tier (100k–500k): $2,000–$8,000. Macro (500k–1M): $8,000–$20,000. Mega (1M+): $20,000+. These are rough industry averages — your niche, ER, and content quality heavily influence actual rates.
