What Is Amazon BSR?
Amazon's Best Seller Rank (BSR) is a score assigned to products within a category, updated hourly. A lower BSR means more recent sales. BSR #1 is the current best-selling product in that category.
How Sales Estimates Work
This tool interpolates between known BSR-to-sales benchmarks derived from Amazon market research data. Because BSR is relative within each category, the same BSR number in Books vs. Electronics will represent very different sales volumes.
- BSR 1–100: Top-selling products — typically thousands of units per month
- BSR 1,000–10,000: Strong mid-market products — hundreds of units per month
- BSR 50,000+: Lower-volume products — fewer than 50 units per month
Use these estimates for product research and demand validation. Always validate with actual sales data when possible.
