🎲 D&D hex crawl tip: A standard hex on a 24-mile-per-inch map is typically 24 miles across (point-to-point). At normal pace, a party crosses one hex per day. Using 6-mile hexes brings more granularity — 4 hexes per day at normal pace.
Maritime travel: A sailing ship makes ~40 miles/day in good conditions; a galley under oars can do 18–24 miles/day. In storms or unfavourable winds, halve these figures.
