🖨️ DPI guide: 72 dpi = screen only (low resolution when printed). 150 dpi = acceptable for large prints viewed from a distance. 300 dpi = standard quality print for close viewing. 600+ dpi = archival / fine art reproduction. Always work at your target DPI from the start.
📐 Aspect ratio: 4:3 (traditional), 3:2 (35mm photo), 16:9 (widescreen), 1:1 (square). Lock your aspect ratio when resizing to avoid distortion. Golden ratio canvas (1:1.618) has a naturally pleasing proportion for paintings.
🖼️ Gallery wrap canvas: Add 1.5–2 inches (4–5cm) bleed on each side for the canvas that wraps around the frame. Your artwork should extend into the bleed area or use a solid colour border so the wrapped edges look intentional.
