How the Reorder Calculator Works
This tool uses three core inventory management formulas to keep your supply chain running smoothly.
- Reorder Point = (Daily Sales × Lead Time) + Safety Stock Units. This is the inventory level at which you should place a new order.
- Safety Stock = Safety Stock Days × Daily Sales. A buffer against unexpected demand spikes or supplier delays.
- Suggested Order Quantity = 30-day supply + Safety Stock. A simple rule-of-thumb order to cover one month plus your buffer.
If your current stock is at or below the reorder point, you should place an order immediately. The "days until reorder" figure tells you how much runway you have before reaching that threshold.
