Why Acrylic Paint Has a Hard Limit

Acrylic paint contains water and other additives that can interfere with the epoxy curing process. Adding more than 10% acrylic by weight may prevent the resin from fully cross-linking, resulting in a permanently soft, tacky, or flexible piece. For heavy opaque color, mica pigments or dedicated resin pigment pastes are a better choice.

Alcohol inks are highly concentrated โ€” a little goes a long way. Too much (above 4%) can affect cure time and may produce a sticky surface. Always test a small batch before committing to a full pour.
