📐 The 1-page-per-minute rule: A standard screenplay page in Courier 12pt, with proper formatting, takes approximately 1 minute to film and edit. This has been consistent across decades of Hollywood production. However: action films often run shorter (dialogue-sparse pages take less screen time); comedies and dramas can run longer.

✂️ First assembly vs final cut: First assembly edits typically run 20–30% longer than the final film. A 110-page script may produce a first cut of 140 minutes which is then edited down to 105. Don't panic if your first draft is slightly long — that's normal.
