Strap Width Finder

📏 Strap width standards: Watch straps are measured at the lug width (where they attach). Common widths: 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 24mm. Most straps taper — e.g. 20/18mm means 20mm at the lug, 18mm at the buckle. Always match to your exact lug width.
🧵 Deployment vs pin buckle: Pin buckles are traditional, simple, and interchangeable. Deployment clasps (butterfly or folding) are more secure for diving and sports, but harder to adjust. Milanese mesh and integrated bracelets typically use deployment clasps.
🛠️ Quick-release vs spring bars: Quick-release straps (pull-tab mechanism) allow tool-free swaps in seconds. Traditional spring bars require a spring bar tool. For watch collectors who swap straps often, quick-release is worth paying extra for.
